BIG and Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand as well as other entrepreneurs in Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate, corporately organized International Coastal Cleanup 2019. The event aims to create people’s consciousness about litters that some can be reused and recycled. Thus, this can reduce rubbish problems in the sea and lead to sustainable circular economy.
September 21, 2019, Rayong. – Representatives and staffs of Bangkok Industrial Gas Co. Ltd. (BIG), Thailand’s Innovative Industrial Gas Solutions, participated garbage cleaning activity at Had Saengchan-Laemcharoen and Had Namrin-Had Payoon-Had Pla areas. Accordingly, over 4,500 volunteers from 34 entrepreneurs in Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate attended the activity. International Coastal Cleanup 2019 or ICC 2019 can influence reduction of plastic wastes in Thai sea which the disposal is supposed to be 50% less within 2027. Due to the Government policy focusing to generate people realization that “rubbishes are resources” – litters for further reuse and recycle. This project is ultimately objected to reach the circular economy and sustainably solve trash problems in Thai sea.
September 3 of every year is International Coastal Cleanup day which is recognized all over the world. For Thailand, this occasion has been continually created for 17 years. This year, volunteers from different organizations cleaned up over 15 kilometers along Had Saengchan-Laemcharoen (Muang District) and Had Namrin-Had Payoon-Had Pla (Ban-Chang District). These beaches are important tourism areas under “Pulling Our Weight” campaign, that seeks to collect garbages in sea and return them to appropriate reuse-recycle management system.
