Global Green Chemicals Public Company Limited (GGC) and BIG signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation for the “Development of Carbon Accounting Platform” project. This collaboration entails the development and implementation of a platform to manage the organizations’ greenhouse gas emissions. By leveraging this platform, the companies aim to enhance the capabilities and efficiency of their personnel, prepare environmental reports, and formulate strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in their production processes. Additionally, the project will facilitate the development of low-carbon products and guide future business operations systematically and in accordance with international standards.
Mr. Kridsada Prasertsuko, Managing Director of Global Green Chemicals Public Company Limited (GGC), unveiled that the collaboration between GGC and BIG aims to propel the organization towards a low-carbon society and foster environmental friendliness for sustainable development. Sustainability emerges as a new imperative, both nationally and globally. This mantle cannot be borne by any single private entity alone but necessitates integration, drawing upon knowledge and expertise from every sector. Through collaborative efforts, genuine sustainable development can be achieved, enriching the potential and quality of life for people across the nation.
Over time, GGC has steadfastly upheld sustainability principles, maintaining a harmonious balance between environmental stewardship and societal well-being under robust corporate governance, encapsulated as Environment, Social and Governance (ESG). Its operations are conducted sustainably and in alignment with international benchmarks, as exemplified by its A- rating in the CDP Climate Assessment. This year, GGC underwent its inaugural global sustainability evaluation by S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (S&P Global CSA), securing the 5th position among 355 evaluated companies in the chemical products sector. This underscores its stature as a globally recognized, sustainable entity. This ethos resonates with the vision “TO BE A LEADING GREEN CHEMICAL COMPANY BY CREATING SUSTAINABLE VALUE,” driving innovation in environmental products and fostering creativity for enduring sustainable value.”
Mr. Piyabut Charuphen, Managing Director of BIG, revealed that “BIG, as a leader in climate technology innovation and a pioneer in driving energy transition in the Thai industrial sector, is a member of the Air Products from the United States, committed to fostering global sustainability. It is undeniable that addressing climate change is crucial, and everyone must collaborate, especially the industrial sector. BIG has adopted the strategy of ‘GENERATING A CLEANER FUTURE’ to propel Thailand towards a low-carbon society, promoting efficient and sustainable energy usage. Therefore, a carbon accounting platform has been developed to monitor and reduce carbon emissions in the production process, addressing the sustainability needs of the industrial sector. The collaboration in deploying this carbon accounting platform is a significant step for the chemical products industry in reducing electricity consumption and can be used to plan for reducing carbon emissions from the production process, contributing to achieving the Net Zero goal by 2050.”
