BIG, Thailand’s leading low-carbon industrial gas provider, has officially released its 2024 Sustainability Report, reaffirming its commitment to driving society toward a Net Zero future and creating a cleaner, more sustainable world for all. The report highlights BIG’s significant progress in integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into its business operations over the past year.

These innovations significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Over the past year, BIG and Air Products have made substantial investments in developing and producing clean hydrogen to meet the growing demand from global customers seeking to minimize environmental impact. We remain committed to leading the development of these technologies under our mission of ‘Generating a Cleaner Future,’ aiming to build a cleaner society for the benefit of all stakeholders—customers, employees, communities, and the environment.”
Key Highlights from the 2024 Sustainability Report:
- Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction: BIG helped customers avoid over 3.5 million tonnes of CO₂ equivalent (CO₂e) emissions—eight times more than BIG’s own total CO₂e emissions. The company targets Net Zero by 2050, with a goal to reduce CO₂e intensity (kgCO₂e) by one-third by 2030 (Third by ’30), covering Scope 1, 2, and selected Scope 3 emissions.
- Climate Technology Innovation: The report emphasizes BIG’s role as a climate technology leader, offering diverse solutions such as Low-Carbon Industrial Gases, Hydrogen Economy technologies, and a Carbon Management Platform to help industries reduce emissions and enhance sustainable operations.
Sustainability Achievements:
- Products and Services: 56% of revenue came from sustainability-focused products and services.
- Customer Carbon Reduction: A 26% increase in avoided CO₂e emissions for customers compared to the previous year, totaling 3.5 million tonnes CO₂e.
- Internal Operations: CO₂e intensity (Scope 1, 2 & 3) reduced by 20%, and Scope 1 & 2 intensity reduced by 35% compared to 2021.
- Safety Performance: Work-related injury rate leading to lost time dropped by over 69% compared to 2021, with a goal of Zero Accidents and Incidents.
