“BIG” and “COOK Vegetable Oil” have entered into a collaborative effort to measure and analyze strategies for reducing carbon emissions in the production of vegetable oil and oilseed residue. This initiative leverages the Carbon Accounting Platform developed by BIG, with the aim of advancing sustainable energy management within the food industry. The partnership aligns with the national target of achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2050 and attaining Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065.
The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was honored by Mr. Piyabut Charuphen, the Managing Director of BIG, and Mr. Adul Premprasert, the Chief Executive Officer, along with Mr. Phimon Lertsabanant, the Chief Financial Officer of Thanakorn Vegetable Oil Products Company Limited, a producer and distributor of animal feed ingredients and “COOK Vegetable Oil”. The collaboration between BIG and “COOK Vegetable Oil” serves to underscore the commitment to developing innovative solutions from Climate Technology in order to audit and reduce carbon emissions in the vegetable oil and oilseed residue production processes, leading towards sustainable energy management.
Mr. Piyabut Charuphen, the Managing Director of BIG, stated that “BIG, as a leader in Climate Technology innovation and a pioneer in driving energy transition for the Thai industry, is a subsidiary of Air Products from the United States, which is committed to creating global sustainability. BIG is fully aware of the importance of sustainable energy use and has therefore developed the Carbon Accounting Platform to monitor and reduce carbon emissions in the production process. This is in response to the growing emphasis on sustainability in the industrial sector. It enables planning for carbon emission reductions from production processes by leveraging BIG’s expertise to support business partners. This collaboration marks a significant step in extending the use of the Carbon Accounting Platform into the food industry and working together with business partners towards the shared goal of achieving Net Zero emissions.”
Mr. Adul Premprasert, the Chief Executive Officer of Thanakorn Vegetable Oil Products Company Limited, further emphasized, “The adoption of innovations, including the observation and production planning platform aimed at reducing carbon emissions through BIG’s Carbon Accounting Platform in the production processes of vegetable oil and oilseed residue, which are part of the Green Industry, will contribute to sustainable energy management and efficient carbon emission reduction from production processes. This represents a significant step towards accelerating our response to the strategy of COOK Vegetable Oil in achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2050 and reaching Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065.”
