BIG jointly sponsors medical equipment, delivered PPE sets to Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital in Chonburi Province and Rayong Hospital, to cope up with the Covid-19 pandemic crisis with risky groups, including those Thai people who gradually return from abroad and patients who are undergoing treatment, with sufficient medical equipment.
Mr. Piyabut Charuphen, Managing Director of Bangkok Industrial Gas Co., Ltd. or BIG, Thailand’s Innovative Industrial Gas Solutions, reveals that BIG donated the Coverall Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which was protective equipment and used in patient care for medical personnel. This was delivered to the medical team of 2 hospitals of the Eastern region, which were Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital in Chonburi Province and Rayong Hospital. The PPE set is protective equipment according to the World Health Organization (WHO) standards that medical personnel can wear it to prevent and reduce the risk of exposure to the virus as well as increase operational safety level while providing care for COVID-19 infected patients.
Regarding this support of PPE sets, BIG recognizes the necessity for medical personnel’s safety while working in hospitals to monitor and screen COVID-19 infected patients. It was found that one staff member needed to use about 3 PPE sets per day. At Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital, the government has set up an area for treatment and quarantine of risky groups for virus infection in the eastern region and, currently, many risky groups have been observed the symptoms, both in the Negative Pressure Room and the Respiratory Disease Clinical Clinic that only screening for COVID-19 diseases.
However, Queen Sirikit Hospital is a hub to distribute PPE sets to the hospital surveillance network and various departments in the network, especially the detention center, Sattahip Reception Building, which is a field hospital for supporting risky groups that travel back from abroad. This is considered as a great support to create great power to jointly create changes for society and we will pass this crisis together.
