EGCO Group collaborates with BIG to study hydrogen and fuel cell power generation aiming for a sustainable low-carbon society

EGCO Group, a leading power generation company, and BIG have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the project “Development and Application of Hydrogen for Power Generation” with the purpose to jointly study the feasibility of developing and utilizing hydrogen for environmentally friendly power generation and carbon reduction. The findings from the study will be applied to power plants within the EGCO Group, aiming for a low-carbon society and creating future opportunities for clean energy businesses together.

Mr. Thepparat Theppitak, CEO of EGCO Group, revealed that EGCO Group is dedicated to driving towards a sustainable low-carbon society. The mid-term target is to reduce the carbon emission intensity by 10% per unit of electricity generated by the year 2030. The long-term goal is to achieve carbon neutrality by the year 2050, with a particular focus on promoting the use of hydrogen as a fuel for power generation. There is a strong belief that hydrogen fuel will be a crucial and viable alternative energy source, supporting the transition from fossil fuels to green energy. EGCO Group is committed to advocating cleaner fuel options, continuously developing modern power generation technologies, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
