Bangkok Industrial Gas Company Limited or BIG – Thailand’s largest oxygen producer – urgently supports medical oxygen with oxygen regulators through Zendai, a group of volunteer, as a reserve and for the treatment of critical covid-19 patients waiting for hospital beds. BIG realizes the importance of immediate assistance as the number of confirmed cases in Bangkok and the vicinity is rising. BIG is also concerned with availability and access to oxygen for covid-19 patients.
“The current situation of covid-19 leads to a shortage of hospital beds in Bangkok and the vicinity. The number of confirmed cases waiting for hospital beds at home and in communities is accumulating. BIG puts best effort to supply and deliver medical oxygen to foundations and agencies such as the Mirror Foundation, Khlongtoey Dee Jung Project and the temporary isolation center at Wat Saphan in Khlongtoey communities. This time, we provide medical oxygen with regulators to Zendai to help patients in need of oxygen,” Mr. Piyabut Charuphen, Managing Director of Bangkok Industrial Gas Company Limited said.
BIG realizes the importance of immediate assistance for the covid-19 patients. BIG has supplied medical oxygen to both public and private healthcare agencies and also set up a network with dealers located in Bangkok and vicinity to open free oxygen refill for foundations and volunteer rescue squads. For the condition of refilling, medical oxygen cylinders under Thai industrial standard (TSI) with a lifetime under 5 years are accepted while those with an over-5-year lifetime require a hydrostatic test every 5 years according to TSI 385-2551.
Under the current situation of covid-19, BIG continues to provide assistance and send encouragement to everyone in every sectors to overcome this situation together.
